Welcome home, P.T. Fortitude
Pacific Tug Group are very happy and proud to welcome P.T. Fortitude and her crew back to her home port of Brisbane after an epic voyage.
After receiving an immediate request from our good friends at Military Services Australia to tow a vessel from Darwin Australia to Yokohama Japan, our amazing team kicked into gear.
With a very short preparation time to make the P.T. Fortitude ready to go to sea, our incredible maintenance and HR team along with operations were able to get her underway.
Led by Steve Marks (PT Ops Manager) the tow was prepared whilst the Fortitude free steamed from Brisbane to Darwin.
During this tow, Captain Dan Jackson and his fine crew managed to avoid several typhoons and arrive into Yokohama safely and in good spirits. After bunkering and restoring the vessel, they then made their way back home to Brisbane free steaming to arrive home safe and sound last night.
27 degrees 30’ South to 37 degrees 30’ North and back – a staggering 1/3 of the way around the globe – covering approximately 9,020 NM, and taking 59 days from start to finish.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all involved for a job done very well.
